Back To Nature

I've always been drawn to nature much more than I have been drawn to society. In fact, there have been times in my life when I have felt disgusted and repelled by society. Nature, however, has always been a steadfast and warm mother. We can see her harsh lessons and ways, but they are always just and often poetic.

Amid this Covid crisis, I've found myself returning to nature more and more. As society implodes from within, we must take the time to step away from it at least every now and then in order to reflect on the natural world around us.

The world would keep spinning, humans or no humans. Some find that scary and depressing, but I find it calming. Perhaps I can explain...

-

Sometimes, we're wrapped up in our own head too tight. What's right in front of us and what we think we need to do and act like can be overbearing.

Somebody ELSE may be wrapped in our head too tight, as well.

What does our boss want us to do?

What would our relatives and friends say if we were to do certain things?

Do they like me?

What's trending?

Who liked my photo on Facebook?

What does the random person you passed on the street think of you?

There's a lot, to be sure. I'm not saying some of these things aren't important for their own reasons, but they should not be your entire world.

Really picture it for a moment...

What if they all faded away?

A man stands within nature.

-

No job, no boss.

You do not pass people on the street. There are no streets. There is dirt, trees, water, and food.

No relatives, no neighbors, no friends. Just you and the earth.

The sky is above you, and your soul is within you.

Scary? Perhaps. But do you feel unbound? Free? -Nothing- is holding you back.

Humanity as you knew it is gone, but the earth still turns like the sun burns hot.

Are you going to sit there and just let globe spin? Or will you take action?

-NOTHING- is holding you back! Fight through the dark thoughts and come to life.

Live.

-

It can be a rush to think about.

That's not exactly where we are in the stream of time.

But when you envision that world, is there anything that stood out to you?

Would you live life differently?

Would you say "Now I can finally !"?

Do you see yourself surviving?

Were you glad some of those anxieties were gone and weights were lifted?

Would you regret the time you spent thinking about other people rather than yourself?

Would you especially miss anybody?

THESE questions, my friend.

These are the questions we need to inquire of our own selves.

Answer them to and for yourself, then take action;

Because the earth turns still.
